Baby is a lovable pit bull with a heart as big as the New Yearâs countdown! He loves balls, and would love to watch the ball drop with you this New Year's Eve. Baby came to the shelter some time ago with his brother. He was adopted, but through no fault of his own, he found his way back after being left with a friend. Despite the changes, Baby remains a sweet and affectionate boy, who just wants stability, love, and a cozy place to land, preferably right in your lap. He can experience a bit of separation anxiety and is understandably, suspicious of kennels, but once he feels safe, his loving personality shines. If youâre looking for a big lap dog, Baby will happily clock in for cuddles, no breaks needed. He's also very smart, and loves to play with puzzles for enrichment. ? A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
