Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Golden Retriever / Mixed. Meet Honey Your Sweetest New Best Friend! Hi! I'm Honey, a 6-year-old Lab/Golden Retriever mix weighing about 52 lbs, and I truly live up to my name. I came to the shelter on 08/14/2025 when my family moved into a smaller home and wanted me to have more room to run, play, and be the happy girl I am. Now I'm ready for my next chapter and a forever family to love. I'm a friendly, outgoing sweetheart who absolutely adores kids of all ages. If there are giggles, hugs, or a game of fetch happening, I want to be right in the middle of it. I'm fully house-trained, have great manners, and love being part of the family routine. Crates aren't really my thing, but cozy beds, couches, and being near my people definitely are. I prefer to be the one and only pet so I can soak up all the attention (and belly rubs) for myself. I'm also a bit of a clever girl with an adventurous streak, so a securely fenced yard and mindful door-checking are importantI like to keep life exciting, and sometimes that means testing my escape artist skills. My adoption fee is $125, and I come spayed, microchipped, up to date on my rabies and boosters. I did test heartworm positive, but the good news is that treatment will be provided at little to no cost to my adopter thanks to the wonderful support of Rockwall PAWS. The RAC staff are always happy to answer any questions and explain the treatment process. If you're looking for a loving, playful, loyal companion who will fill your home with joy, cuddles, and a whole lot of heart, I'd love to meet you. Breed overview
Overview:
The Golden Labrador, a delightful hybrid often referred to as a Goldador, is a popular cross between the Golden Retriever and the Labrador Retriever. Originating from designer breeding programs, these intelligent dogs inherit the best traits from both beloved parent breeds. Physically, they are medium to large-sized with a muscular build, typically sporting a dense, water-repellent coat in shades of gold, yellow, or cream. Their temperament is exceptionally friendly, loyal, and eager to please, making them outstanding family pets that get along well with children and other animals. While adaptable, their energy levels necessitate regular exercise, making a house with a yard preferable over strict apartment living. Though generally healthy, potential health considerations include hip and elbow dysplasia, common in both parent breeds, and certain eye conditions. Overall, the Golden Labrador offers a wonderful blend of intelligence, affection, and trainability, making them a fantastic companion for active families.
