Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Bella, aka Mommy is 5 years old and birthday is in January. I got her at 3 months old from someone giving away puppies. She has access to a doggy door to go in and out as she pleases. She gets along with other dogs and has been living with my 2 other pit bulls. I am looking for a home that loves animals and does not care if she doesn't want too much attention because she likes being alone. She also gets anxiety when going to the vet. I have a big yard so she rarely has the opportunity to take walks with a leash. I have never taken her anywhere other than the vet. She is very loveable when she wants attention, but is usually out of sight, so she would probably like to be an only pet in a child-free home. **** Breed: Pit bull **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2191917&flag=1

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
