Description
Dog Breed: Boxer (short coat). Please welcome Chata to CH Boxer Rescue For years, Chata’s world was the outdoors — a fenced yard, the sounds of the night, the changing weather. She loved her person, but as their health declined, her care became inconsistent and scarce. Then everything changed. Yesterday, Chata arrived at a foster home. For the very first time, she walked in through the doors of a real house. She took it all in slowly — the floors, the furniture, the new people and dogs. She wasn’t sure where she belonged or what the rules were, but she tried her best to be brave. Last night, Chata was given a safe space inside, where she slept warm and quiet. Chata is a gentle, timid soul who is friendly with other dogs and doesn’t mind cats. She is a healthy, 3-year-old Boxer, spayed and up to date on vet care. She’s ready to learn what it truly means to be home. Available in the Northeast (NY, NJ, CT, RI, VT, PA, DE, MD, NoVA) Apply today: .chboxerrescue/adopt

Boxer
A.K.A.: Deutscher Boxer, German Boxer, Dutch Boxer, Boxer dog, Boxy, Boxerman
Overview:
The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
