Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Kazoo (Paula Kazoo) At about 4.5 years old and roughly 40 pounds, Terrier mix Kazoo is a sweet and gentle girl who will be your best friend in no time at all. Kazoo loves everyone, turns a visiting dog into a forever pal, plays like it's the best time ever and gives cats the space they need. She is just as content to sit right next to you watching Law and Order reruns as she is to patrol the yard. She is not destructive and can be left alone to snooze while waiting for her humans to return home. She is housebroken, walks on a leash like she invented the activity and stays on her own side if the bed. She would love a canine housemate, because it is what she has always known, but would be great with lots of human attention too. There is likely not a household where she would not be a perfect fit. Kazoo is currently available for adoption, apply today at pawsacrosspittsburgh/adopt. Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale, PA KL# 16182.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
