Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. Meet Kaia A Sweet Soul with a Big Heart and an Even Bigger Love for Belly Rubs Kaia is a beautiful 6-year-old female American Bully weighing about 43 pounds, and she's searching for a new forever family through no fault of her own. Her world changed when her family received new military orders to a state where her breed is not permitted on base, and although they loved her dearly, they were forced to make the heartbreaking decision to find her a new home. Now Kaia is ready for her second chance and hoping to land right where she belongsat the center of someone's life. Kaia is a gentle, affectionate, well-mannered girl who truly loves being part of a family. She does great with other dogs, is wonderful with children, and has the kind of calm, loving personality that makes her an instant favorite. She's both house trained and crate trained, making her an easy addition to a home, and she thrives on companionship and attention. Her absolute favorite thing in the world? Belly rubs. If you're looking for a dog who will happily soak up affection and give it right back, Kaia is your girl. She's described by everyone who meets her as loving, social, and incredibly loyalthe kind of dog who just wants to be near her people and be part of everyday life. Whether it's relaxing on the couch, going for a walk, or simply keeping you company, Kaia is happiest when she's with her humans. Kaia's adoption fee is $125. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her basic yearly vaccinations. She did test heartworm positive, but thanks to the amazing support of Rockwall PAWS, her treatment is fully sponsored and will begin right away. The RAC staff are happy to answer any questions and walk you through the treatment process. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a loyal, gentle, affectionate companion who has so much love left to give, Kaia is ready to meet you. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
