Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (medium coat). Jana is a gentle, easygoing girl who loves being close to her people. Sheâs mellow, affectionate, and happiest snoozing by your side or soaking up cuddles. She's easy to walk on leash, rides well in the car, handles baths and paw wiping with patience, and knows âsitâ and âpawâ for treats.Quiet, well-mannered, and deeply loving, Jana is the perfect companion for anyone looking for a peaceful, sweet dog who brings a calm presence wherever she goes. Check out what her foster has to say about her: She enjoyed herself with many new things. Cats, other older dog friend, neighbors who doted on her, MANY teens, our kiddos all the way down to age 3. She was sooo gentle & seeked out attention. She even found where our dogs food containers were asking to share. Apparently she is a dog food connoisseur?! She enjoyed a Whimzee chew and gladly accepted Benebones. She also was curious about other animals we have. Once she met them and got curiosity out of the way she just moved on to see what was next. If you were sitting at a couch in any part of the house be sure to know she was coming to climb up and lay either on you or next to you. Love her temperament & wasn't startled by chaos around her.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
