Description
Dog Breed: Corgi / Mixed. Meet Reba! Reba is a 3-year-old Corgi mix (30 lbs) with short legs, teddy bear–soft ears, and the sweetest soul. She is a very mellow, low energy gal who is happiest lounging with her people—but don’t be fooled, she loves backyard zoomies! Reba is house trained, crate trained, and has great leash manners. She enjoys daily walks and would do well in an apartment or a home with a yard. She is good with dogs (prefers calm friends), good with cats, and would likely be good with respectful, older kids. She bonds quickly to her humans and is incredibly gentle, trusting, and brave—even when she is unsure. Reba would love a family who enjoys spending time together and including her in daily life. If you are looking for a sweet, loyal, low-key best friend with a silly side, then Reba may just be your girl! Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. [Her] adoption fee is $200. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
