Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Blitzen! My friends describe me as: Friendly, sweet, adorable If you are looking for a handsome boy with adorable ears, who is the perfect size and stature- Blitzen is your guy! He's compact but not too small and he's ready for any adventure you throw at him. He loves long walks and lots of playtime. At a year old he still has some learning to do when it comes to manners and impulse control, but he has already mastered the art of the automatic sit! Blitzen enjoys delicious treats and lots of praise, which will help with his training. This boy is an all around great dog and would love to be your new best friend! Come see him in Brewster! Blitzen is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been neutered, microchipped and seen by our vet team. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
