Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed. A SWEET & WONDERFUL PUPPY: Approx. 6-7 months old / Approx. 33 lbs. & growing Hi there, I’m Jessie! I’m a darling pup who somehow found myself at animal control, and I’m so grateful to be in the Mostly Mutts family now. I got to spend about 5 days in a temporary foster home and had fun with them and now I’m ready to find my very own family. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met some other dogs at Mostly Mutts and I liked them, and I played very nicely with the 3- and 9-year-old dogs in my temp. foster home so if you have a nice dog that would like a puppy friend, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids at Mostly Mutts yet, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a gentle, sweet pup with a happy spirit and a heart full of love. Everyone says I’m a doll baby – I was calm and delightful during my bath, even sat still for ear cleaning! I’m playful, fun, and full of joy, and in my temporary foster home I listened well and was told that I was amazing and truly a wonderful dog. / Energy level: 5-7. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’ and ‘drop it’ commands and I look forward to learning more. I’m looking for a family that will continue to teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog – including starting to train me not to chew on you and the kids so we’ll all be happy – so get ready for some training with your new best friend. / My crate manners were good in my temp. foster home as well as at Mostly Mutts. / I’m having some accidents on the shelter schedule, and I had a few in my temporary foster home, but I was improving well, so keep me on a good schedule in my new home and I think I’ll pick it up pretty quickly. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love treats, zooming around the play yard, playing with toys and people, and just spending time with people – it’s my favorite way to have fun! / I can’t think of things I don’t like yet since I’m so young, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I've started my puppy shots, but you will have to finish these for me as I grow. I’m also micro-chipped and spayed. If you’re ready for the fun and excitement of having a puppy as well as the training commitment, then let’s meet! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
