Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (short coat). Location: Riverside, RI Roscoe is a 42lb., 3 year old Blue Male Heeler. He is neutered and up to date on shots. He is a super sweet cattle dog and loves to be around people. He does sound the alarm when someone comes to the door but other than that is super sweet boy who loves to wiggle his butt. Roscoe gets along with other dogs but really doesn't seem to care if they are around or not. He does his own thing in the backyard while the other dogs are playing around. As soon as a person enters the area he is all in on following them around and seeing what is happening. Roscoe loves to play with toys and tennis balls although his retrieval skills are not that great but he likes to chase the ball you throw and then run around with it in his mouth :-) please contact kctracy1yahoo. He is available for meet and greets in Riverside, RI. To schedule a meet and greet, submit an application Complete an Application: .acdra/adoption-application

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
