Description
Dog Breed: Basset Hound / Poodle (Standard) / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Percy. He is an 11 month old Bassetdoodle. YES you read it correctly, part Basset Hound/Part Poodle. He is probably one of the cutest fellas you will ever lay your eyes on. He is also one of the happiest doggies you will ever meet. He is full of sugar and spice. He LOVES to run and play with kids, dogs, cats or anyone that will play with him. He weighs about 45 pounds so he plays hard. As sweet as he is, he is also that mischievous. He will get bored when left alone so crating him while gone would be your best bet. Everyone that meets him loves him. He is up to date on all vaccines, neutered, chipped and heartworm negative. Breed overview
Overview:
The Bassetoodle is a charming designer breed resulting from a cross between the laid-back Basset Hound and the intelligent Standard Poodle. Originating from the desire to combine the Poodle's hypoallergenic coat and sharp mind with the Basset's distinctive look and amiable nature, these hybrids vary in appearance but generally inherit the Basset's long, droopy ears and the Poodle's curly or wavy, low-shedding coat, which can range widely in color. Temperamentally, they are often described as friendly, affectionate, and intelligent, making them quite trainable. Their adaptable nature makes them potentially suitable for families and even apartment living, provided they receive adequate daily exercise and mental stimulation to prevent boredom. Regarding health, potential owners should be aware of conditions prevalent in both parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, ear infections (due to their long ears), and certain eye conditions, necessitating responsible breeding and veterinary care.
