Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Pug / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 350.00. Please go to our website for all specific information about this dog. Our info doesn't transfer over to the adoption sites. Calista is a darling little, young girl who's ready for a permanent new loving furever home. She came to us from a family with her sister, Aunt and Daddy. They lived in an apartment and hadn't been outside before so used potty pads only. We've been getting her off to a good start of going outside on a regular schedule but leaving pads in the xpen for mishaps. She is not leash broke at this time so must have a securely fenced yard and someone willing to continue to work with leash training. She's good with other dogs, has not been around cats and there were kids in the home but we don't know their ages. She's playful and lovable once she bonds with you and that won't take long. Though she has the short fur (the only 1 that did) she is chihuahua, pug and shihtzu. Prior to adoption, our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and parasite treated/prevented.

Breed overview
Overview:
The "Chug," a delightful crossbreed of the Chihuahua and Pug, originated from the desire to combine the best traits of both beloved parent breeds. Physically, Chugs typically inherit a compact build, weighing between 10-20 pounds, with a short, smooth coat that comes in various colors, often displaying the Pug's characteristic wrinkled face and the Chihuahua's expressive eyes. Their temperament is generally a charming mix of the Pug's affectionate and playful nature with the Chihuahua's spirited and loyal disposition, making them wonderful companions. Chugs are highly adaptable, excelling in both apartment living and homes with families, including those with older children, though early socialization is key. While generally healthy, potential owners should be aware of predispositions to respiratory issues (due to their brachycephalic features), patellar luxation, and eye conditions, making regular veterinary check-ups important for their long-term well-being.
