Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Poodle (Standard) / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 600. Hi there! I was born mid October and I am a 12-pound fluffy doodle mix, and I’m here to tell you a little about me—from my point of view Hi! I’m a bouncy, playful puppy with a big heart and an even bigger love for fun. I adore playing with my people and I’m super friendly with other pets too—I love making new friends! Whether it’s chasing toys, tumbling around the yard, or curling up after a busy play session, I’m happiest when I’m with my humans. I’m still a baby, which means I’m learning all about the world. I’d do best in a home where someone is around to help train me, teach me good manners, and spend time playing with me. I’m eager to learn, I love attention, and I’m excited to grow into the best companion I can be. If you’re looking for a sweet, fluffy sidekick who’s ready to learn, play, and love you with my whole puppy heart, I might just be the one you’ve been waiting for We would like an active family who can be home much of the time to ensure Maxwell is socialized and has lots of opportunities for exercise and play. A home with kids 8 or older is required as he is in a very nippy stage of puppyhood! If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: .starfishanimalrescue/adopt/dog-adoption-application . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! The adoption fee of $600 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Labradoodle is a charming and increasingly popular hybrid breed, originating in Australia in the late 1980s with the goal of creating a guide dog for a visually impaired individual allergic to dog hair. This delightful canine combines the best traits of its parent breeds: the intelligent Poodle (Standard) and the friendly Labrador Retriever. Physically, Labradoodles boast a range of sizes and coat types, from wavy fleece to curly wool, often shed-reduced, making them a potential option for individuals with mild allergies. Their coats come in various colors, including cream, chocolate, and black. Temperamentally, they are known for being sociable, intelligent, and trainable, making them excellent family pets. They thrive on human companionship and require moderate exercise to stay happy and healthy. While adaptable, their energy levels mean they generally prefer homes with yards over small apartments, though daily walks are essential. Common health considerations, inherited from their parent breeds, can include hip and elbow dysplasia, eye conditions, and certain cancers, so choosing a reputable breeder is crucial for a healthy companion.
