Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 250.00. Please contact Forbes for more information about this pet. Hi there! My name is Colt, and I’m a 10-week-old puppy on a big adventure to find my forever family. I may be little, but I have a huge heart and a tail that never stops wagging! Every morning, I wake up ready to explore, play, and give kisses to everyone I meet. I love snuggles, chasing squeaky toys, and curling up for naps in sunny spots. I’m learning all sorts of new things every day, like how to sit, how to walk nicely on a leash, and (I’m getting really good at this!) how to make humans smile. I’m looking for a family who will love me, teach me, and help me grow into the best dog I can be. If you have room in your heart (and maybe on your couch) for a sweet, playful puppy like me, I promise to fill your days with joy, laughter, and lots of puppy kisses!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
