At just 2 years old, this handsome Boxer/Pit Bull mix weighs around 70 pounds and brings a whole lot of love, intelligence, and personality wherever he goes. Bowser is brilliant, energetic, and affectionate. He absolutely adores kids, but because of his strength and enthusiasm, supervision is recommended around younger children. He gets along well with some dogs, but he would truly shine as an only dog, where he can soak up all the attention. Bowser is convinced he’s a lap dog and will happily try to cuddle his way into your heart (and your personal space). He’s also quite vocal and loves to “talk back,” which is endlessly entertaining and makes his personality really stand out. This smart guy already knows several commands, including sit, come, off, heel, no, and lay down. He is fully house-trained with no accidents and is very comfortable in a crate—he even sleeps in one regularly. If you love to run, Bowser might just be your perfect match. Running is his favorite thing in the world! He also loves chasing a ball and playing tug-of-war and will happily keep going long after you’re tired. He needs plenty of space to stretch his legs and burn off energy. Bowser would do best in an active, structured environment. He’d especially love having an active older child or teen (around 13 years old) to run and play with. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption.
