Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Hi, I’m Claus — Your Future Snuggle Buddy Hi there! I’m Claus, a 2-month-old terrier mix from Oklahoma, and I weigh about 10 pounds right now. I may be little, but I’ve got a big heart and so much love to share. I’m a friendly, easygoing guy who gets along great with other dogs and even cats. My foster family says I fit in beautifully, and I think that’s because I really just love being around others. If there’s a cozy spot nearby—or better yet, a lap—I’m happy. Snuggling is kind of my specialty. At night, I sleep all the way through, tucked in with my foster mom, and I don’t move a muscle until morning. When it’s time to wake up, I gently paw her to let her know I’m ready to start the day with some love and adventure. I’m learning my puppy manners, too. I’m about 75% potty trained and getting better every day with a little supervision. When my foster family is away, I do just fine resting in my kennel until they return. I’m sweet, gentle, and ready to form a deep bond with my forever family. If you’re looking for a loving puppy to grow with your family—one who adores cuddles and companionship—I might just be the perfect fit. I can’t wait to meet you and see if we’re meant to be together. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
