Description
Dog Breed: Maltese / Poodle (Miniature) / Mixed. Kynz didn’t end up in a rural Texas shelter because she did something wrong. She was dumped after her family decided she wasn’t “for them” anymore. The shelter she landed in is appointment-only, remote, and not a place dogs like her make it out of. Without rescue stepping in, her story would have ended there. Despite that, Kynz is still very much herself. She’s gentle and calm, but she’s not dull or checked out. She enjoys play, has an adorable little personality, and still finds joy in the day-to-day things. She’s quiet in the kennel, easy to be around, and gets along well with other dogs. She doesn’t demand attention, but she notices you. She’s the kind of dog who chooses her moments and then makes them count. Kynz would do best in a home that appreciates a dog who can settle, but also still wants to engage, play, and be part of the family. She’s past the puppy chaos, but she’s not done living. She just needs someone who sees her as enough and keeps her for the rest of her life. This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.) To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: .sandypawsrescue. PLEASE READ: • If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this. • All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date. • Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments. Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well. Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation. For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: .sandypawsrescue. The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Maltipoo, a delightful crossbreed, emerges from the charming combination of a Maltese and a Miniature Poodle, offering a compact and affectionate companion. Originating in the United States, this "designer dog" was selectively bred for its desirable traits, particularly its low-shedding coat and amiable disposition. Physically, Maltipoos typically weigh between 5-20 pounds, sporting a soft, wavy to curly coat that comes in various colors, most commonly white, cream, or apricot. Their temperament is a major draw: they are known for being intelligent, playful, and incredibly loving, often forming strong bonds with their families. This makes them highly suitable for both families with children and apartment living, provided they receive adequate exercise and mental stimulation. While generally healthy, potential health considerations can include patellar luxation, progressive retinal atrophy, and white shaker syndrome, inherited from their parent breeds. With proper care and attention, a Maltipoo can be a joyful and long-lived member of any household.
