Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Golden Retriever / Mixed (short coat). Buddy is a 2-year-old male Lab/Golden Retriever mix who must be neutered before adoption. He came to PAHS after being found as a stray; and his owner never came looking for him. Buddy has a beautiful, shiny, and healthy tan coat with white markings. He weighs 57 pounds so he is considered to be a large young adult dog. Buddy is a friendly fellow; and he is a high energy type of guy. He loves to play outside in our fenced yard; and enjoys being with other dogs. Buddy is lovable and would do well in a home with older children (due to his activity level). He will need a securely fenced yard where he can safely play and get the zoomies out. Buddy can't wait to his very own family! Come meet him soon! Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120. Cat/kitten adoption fees are $75. All pets will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a discount spay/neuter certificate to be used at participating vet clinics to help with the cost of spay/neuter. Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under "special needs" our dogs have screened heart worm negative.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Golden Labrador, a delightful hybrid often referred to as a Goldador, is a popular cross between the Golden Retriever and the Labrador Retriever. Originating from designer breeding programs, these intelligent dogs inherit the best traits from both beloved parent breeds. Physically, they are medium to large-sized with a muscular build, typically sporting a dense, water-repellent coat in shades of gold, yellow, or cream. Their temperament is exceptionally friendly, loyal, and eager to please, making them outstanding family pets that get along well with children and other animals. While adaptable, their energy levels necessitate regular exercise, making a house with a yard preferable over strict apartment living. Though generally healthy, potential health considerations include hip and elbow dysplasia, common in both parent breeds, and certain eye conditions. Overall, the Golden Labrador offers a wonderful blend of intelligence, affection, and trainability, making them a fantastic companion for active families.
