Dog Breed: Unknown breed. I have a beautiful yellow labrador retriever that needs a new home. Buddy is house broken and will lay down or sit on command. Buddy is great with other pets including dogs, cats, and farm animals. He would do best in a home where he can run and play with other pets and kids, and be taken for rides or to the lake. I aquired Buddy (then Smokey) from a reputable breeder. Buddy comes with papers and you can register him with the American Kennel Club. Buddy has had all shots up to a year and a half ago. He also has his rabies shots with certificate. Buddy has a chip and is a member of Home Again so if he is ever lost you can put out an alert immediately and also have access to 24/7 emergency medical hotline, 24/7 access to lost pet specialists, and access to pet travel assistance. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
