Description
Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois / Mixed. This brindle female puppy is an active, intelligent girl with a very Malinois-like personality—fast, bouncy, and always on the move. She forms a strong bond with her person and is incredibly sweet and affectionate once she feels comfortable. She has a high food drive, medium toy and medium prey drive. She is already potty trained. She would make a great companion for an active, experienced owner who is committed to training and structure. She can be suspicious of strangers at a distance but will greet new people and be sweet; leans submissive. She is suspicious with other dogs, especially on leash, and is not a social/playful dog. She will be dog-selective at best and is not a dog park candidate. She would do best as an only dog or with calm, neutral dogs that won’t put pressure on her. Environmentally, she is sensitive and can spook easily with changes, so she will need consistent exposure, structure, and confidence-building to help her navigate the world. She has a tendency to get twitchy or overstimulated during training and play, and will need guidance in learning how to slow down, think, and regulate herself. She is not a fit for homes with young children or first-time dog owners. Between 0-8 weeks she had early environmental exposure. She was handled since birth, early neurological stimulation and early scent introduction. As of lately, she is working in confidence building, socialization, free shaping, recall and basic positions. She is crate trained, potty trained, and does well on leash. All MAD dogs come with a Fi Collar and six month subscription. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
