Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. Sienna is a high energy, fun-loving young Malinois with an absolute zest for life! Fresh from the streets of Loredo TX, she hasn't had a lot of training, but she is eager to please and already coming along beautifully with her foster. She is very ball and treat/food driven and loves her toys. And so affectionate! She gets along well with other dogs with slow introductions. She loves meeting new people, very confident, and is great with kids! If her person is up and moving, so is she, always ready for action. But she also has a great off switch, and will chill and hang out as well. Great in the crate, she will hang out in there on right by your side. Sienna is the perfect match for an adopter looking for a young, energetic pup with lots of potential for dog sports or just an active life. *********************************************** To apply to adopt, please fill out the application by clicking on the Adopt button or ask for this dog to be added to your existing application. Our home address is in Michigan, however, the majority of our dogs are not located in Michigan. The physical location of each our our dogs is posted with the name of the pet or in the title area. If you are within 4 hours of the pet, please be prepared to pick the pet up. We do provide transport assistance up to 350 miles. The applicant must drive the remainder of the distance of the transport. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
