Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Meg is a sweet 48 pound, 9-year-old Valley Bulldog who loves going on walks, playing at daycare and the dog park & going for car rides to check out what’s new at the local hardware store where the employees know her by name before snuggling I the couch with you. She is seeking a constant companion because being left alone leaves her anxious. Meg is microchipped, crate trained and knows basic commands such as sit, wait, right, left, and go potty. This medium-sized girl loves people and gets along great with most other dogs, but kids and cats are unknowns. She loves all food, but the vet says that to keep her from getting itchy it’s important that she stays on a prescription diet available at most pet stores. **** Breed: Valley Bulldog. Sometimes called Bull Boxer (English bulldog/boxer heritage) **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2192472&flag=1

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
