Description
Dog Breed: Great Dane. LOCATION: Murfreesboro, TN DOB: 02/01/2024 Meet Halo, a stunning blue merle Great Dane with a joyful personality and a gift for making everyone feel like her new best friend. She’s outgoing, playful, and full of that infectious young-dog energy that makes every day a little brighter. Tug-of-war is her absolute favorite game—she takes it very seriously—and she loves a good round of zoomies in the yard. After she’s had her fun, Halo is more than happy to settle in for a nap curled up right beside you. Halo was recently diagnosed with a distal humerus fracture that caused some tendon misalignment, but you’d never know it from the way she plays. Her veterinary team says no further treatment is needed, and she’s using her leg exactly as she should. As she grows older, she may develop some arthritis, and a high-quality large-breed diet with a joint supplement will help keep her comfortable for years to come. She’s a huge fan of her people and prefers not to be left alone for long stretches. In her kennel she settles well and patiently waits for her person to return. Halo is fully housetrained, crate-trained, and quick to learn—she picked up “sit” and “wait” in no time and loves showing off her manners. Halo enjoys car rides so much that she sometimes tries to hop into any open car door she sees. She’s smart, silly, and always ready for an adventure. She gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and especially loves playful companions who can keep up with her. She’s also been great with kids, from toddlers to teens, and greets new adults like old friends. Her leash manners are still developing, mostly because she gets excited when she sees other people and dogs, but she walks beautifully in quieter settings. She’s athletic, can clear a baby gate without much effort, and would be happiest with a fenced yard where she can stretch out those long legs. Halo would thrive in a home with another friendly dog and a family that enjoys both activity and downtime. She loves to play hard and cuddle even harder, and she’ll happily take over your couch if you let her. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and delightfully goofy Great Dane to add to your family, Halo is ready to steal your sofa—and your heart. ========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! form.jotform/51994996709176 . Overview:
The Great Dane is an impressive and regal breed, often dubbed the "Apollo of Dogs" for its dignified stature and noble appearance. Originating in Germany, where it was historically bred for hunting boar, this giant breed is renowned for its immense size and striking presence. Physically, Great Danes are characterized by their tall, muscular build, short coat (available in various colors like fawn, brindle, black, blue, and harlequin), and expressive eyes. Despite their formidable size, they possess a surprisingly gentle and affectionate temperament, making them wonderful family companions. They are known for being patient with children and generally get along well with other pets. While their size might suggest otherwise, Great Danes can adapt to apartment living if provided with sufficient daily exercise, as they are not overly energetic indoors. However, prospective owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to bloat (gastric dilatation-volvulus), hip dysplasia, and certain heart conditions, necessitating careful breeding and regular veterinary check-ups. Overall, a Great Dane offers a loving and loyal addition to the right home.
