Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / German Shepherd Dog / Mixed. Meet Marvel! Marvel is an 11-week-old Lab/Husky mix with a sleek black, medium-length coat and a personality that’s anything but small. Currently about 11 pounds, this little guy is expected to grow into a large dog (61–100 lbs). While he’s the smallest of his brothers, Marvel has a big, playful spirit and loves to stir things up before cleverly sneaking away. Marvel is a typical puppy who enjoys chasing his brothers, squeaky toys, and most of all, anything warm. He’s a bit more reserved than his siblings but still very playful and cuddly once he’s comfortable. One of his favorite hobbies is hiding under the coffee table or couch, though he’s quickly growing out of that trick! He is crate-trained and does well spending short periods in a pen with his brothers and sleeping in a crate at night (after some nightly affirmations and a brief puppy lullaby). Marvel is working on house-training using puppy pads and is learning what outside means, especially challenging when it’s cold, which he would happily skip if given the choice. Marvel does well with other dogs and enjoys their company, though he’s still learning puppy manners and can be a bit jumpy. He’s good with kids over 8 years old but, like many teething puppies, may be a little nippy. He hasn’t been around cats yet. When Marvel arrived, he was underweight and dehydrated, but he’s now eating, drinking, and growing well. With his playful charm, cuddly nature, and growing confidence, Marvel will thrive in a home ready to help him learn, grow, and stay warm. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Originating from designer breed efforts to combine the intelligence of the German Shepherd with the Labrador's friendly disposition, these dogs typically boast a medium to large build with a dense, weather-resistant coat that can range in color. Physically, they often exhibit the Shepherd’s strong bone structure and the Lab’s kind eyes. Temperamentally, Shepradors are generally intelligent, loyal, and trainable, making them excellent companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and do best in homes with a yard, as their energy levels make apartment living challenging without significant daily exercise. While generally healthy, potential health considerations include hip and elbow dysplasia, common to both parent breeds, and eye conditions. Early socialization and consistent training are key to fostering a well-adjusted Sheprador.
