Description
Dog Breed: Border Collie / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (long coat). Snoopy is a beautifully marked male Border Collie or Australian Shepherd mix born about June 2025. He is neutered and a healthy, happy guy. Affectionate and people oriented, this sweet boy wraps his paws and around his person if he gets afraid of another dog. He’s friendly towards dogs, but his littermates were attached by a group of roaming dogs, so he’s intimidated by assertive dogs. He would be fine with proper introductions as long as his brother or sister isn’t super aggressive. Snoopy would make a great partner for agility or other dog sports, or he can just be your bff. Adoption fee $275. This covers the cost of spay/neuter, DHPP, Rabies, Flea, tick, heart worm check, worm treatment, and microchip. To adopt, you need to first fill out an application. Go to: rutherfordcountyhumanesociety/dog-adoption-application/ We are located in Western North Carolina. Optional transport is weekly. After your application is approved, we will contact you regarding cost and delivery if you so desire.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Border-Aussie, a captivating hybrid of the Australian Shepherd and Border Collie, is a relatively new designer breed gaining popularity for its intelligence and athleticism. Originating from the desire to combine the best traits of its highly trainable parent breeds, the Border-Aussie typically exhibits a medium build with a striking, often bi- or tri-colored coat that can be rough or smooth. Temperamentally, they are incredibly intelligent, energetic, and possess a strong work drive, making them eager to learn and excel in various dog sports. While generally good-natured and loyal, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them best suited for active families or individuals who can provide consistent training and plenty of exercise; they are generally not ideal for apartment living. Potential owners should also be aware of common health concerns inherited from their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, eye conditions (like Collie Eye Anomaly), and epilepsy.
