Description
Dog Breed: Treeing Walker Coonhound / Beagle / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 350. Estelle is a beautiful hound mix. She is small for a hound though. She is 37 pounds and has already gained a good amount of weight but can stand to gain more. She was severely underweight when she was rescued from a cane field in the South. She had to learn to trust people and had to be treated for heartworms, a common issue in the south due to no preventative care. Estelle is a great dog. She likes to run and play. Most hounds do need "run room" so a decent size yard will be beneficial. Adoption fee is 350 which helps cover all of the medical for all of the dogs in the rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and many have received further treatment for such conditions as lump removal, severe ear infections, dental cleanings, bloodwork, leg injuries, etc.. We do out of state adoptions but require a submitted application, a home visit (sometimes we cannot get this done and then we can not adopt), and the adopter must come to Las Vegas to meet the potential dog(s), possibly adopt, and then drive the dog back. Disclaimer: The SNBRF has the right to deny applications based on our adoption policies established for the consideration of the health, safety, and well-being of the dog. Beagles can have a lifespan of 15-18 years. Therefore, beagles or any other breed who are under 3 years of age will NOT be adopted to anyone over the age of 62. For individuals who are 70 years of age and older, the dogs must be 8 years or older For more information or to submit an adoption application, please visit our website at .southernnevadabeaglerescue . We are also on Facebook at .facebook/SouthernNevadaBeagleRescueFoundation . Come meet and play with our available dogs at Las Vegas area dog parks. Times and locations can be found at .meetup/beagles-207/ . Contact us or check our Facebook updates ahead of time if you are interested in meeting a particular dog. All our dogs are in foster homes so not all are available to attend all our park meetups. Our meetup group playdates allow you to socialize your beagle with his/her own breed at dog parks with large fenced areas where the beagles can run and play off-leash. Beagle enthusiasts, come bay with us..... AROOOOOOOOOOOO!

Breed overview
Overview:
The Beagle Walker Coonhound, a lively hybrid of the Beagle and the Treeing Walker Coonhound, embodies a delightful blend of its parent breeds' best qualities. Originating from the desire to combine the Beagle's compact size and amiable nature with the Coonhound's keen scenting ability and endurance, this breed is a fantastic companion for active families. Physically, they are medium-sized dogs, typically weighing between 30-55 pounds, with a muscular build, long floppy ears, and a short, easy-to-maintain coat that comes in various hound colors, often tricolor. Temperament-wise, they are generally intelligent, friendly, and affectionate, though their strong prey drive means they require secure leashes and fenced yards. They thrive on human companionship and are typically good with children, making them excellent family pets. However, their vocal nature and need for substantial exercise make them less suitable for apartment living. While generally robust, potential health considerations include hip and elbow dysplasia, ear infections, and certain eye conditions, typical of their parent breeds.
