Description
Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff / Mixed (long coat). Hendrix is a stunning, 110 pound, 2-year-old Cane Corso with a heart as big as his paws. He’s a friendly, well-mannered boy who gets along great with other dogs and is non-reactive to other animals. Hendrix is wonderful with kids and has a gentle, affectionate nature that makes him an amazing family companion. He loves to play—especially when balls are involved—and will happily chase them until it’s time to relax. When playtime is over, Hendrix turns into a total cuddle bug and truly believes he’s a giant lap dog. He enjoys snuggling up with his people and being close to those he loves. Hendrix does have epilepsy, which is currently being managed. With the right care and a consistent routine, he continues to thrive and enjoy life just like any other dog. His condition doesn’t define him—it’s just one small part of who he is. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, playful companion who balances fun energy with sweet affection, Hendrix could be the perfect addition to your family.. All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption. Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter. Apply to adopt Hendrix at .rdrnyc

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
