Dog Breed: Dachshund / Mixed. Meet Jake! Jake is a 5 year old Dachshund mix who before being brought to our rescue was attacked pretty severely, and we are not sure if it was at the hands of humans or another animal, but we just knew he needed our help! He was extremely shy and skittish around humans and was not able to be petted, so we started working with him! In just a few months, this almost feral dog has turned into an absolute love bug! He only weighs around 14lbs and still has some scarring, but that just means he is a survivor and his scars tell a story! He has been overlooked so many times, due to being just a "plain black dog" or because of the scars on his face, but to us, and hopefully his forever person, it just adds to his charm! He has some spatters of white thruout his body and on his face that look like he got misted and he has the sweetest eyes! He is not aggressive at all, even with everything he has gone thru in his short little life! He is house trained and very much loves to take long walks on a leash! He just needs to realize he can trust you and then you will be his best bud!
