Dog Breed: Cattle Dog / Shepherd / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 350. ATTENTION: All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs. If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to .secondchancedogrescue and complete an application. We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Evie is a sweet 12-week-old puppy, one of 8 that were born in rescue. She is a happy go lucky type puppy, outgoing, energetic, loves all people and dogs. She is submissive and playful. She loves her treats and feeding time, she is growing quickly and will most likely be a thin framed medium size dog, with long legs just like her momma. She is a cuddle bug that would love to go on adventures with her family. She is still working on potty training and getting used to the outside world, but now that she is up to date on her shots, micro chipped, and spayed, she is ready to take on the world with you. Her adoption fee is $350. A refundable training deposit of $100 will be also due upon adoption. Training must be provided in a timely fashion to ensure our pups become the best canine citizens. The training deposit will be refundable within 3 months of the adoption date. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
