Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed. Please read the entire description before applying. Meet Willa and her brother Walker. These small-breed puppies, born on October 29, were surrendered to a shelter by a breeder due to an unexpected litter. Willa is 3 months old and weighs 8 lbs. Adult size should be under 25lbs. They were transferred to our rescue for proper care, socialization, and a fresh start. It is believed they are Chihuahua, Dachshund, and Jack Russell mixes. They enjoy being loved and held. They are raised in a caring foster home where they receive daily socialization and plenty of human interaction. Because of the cold weather, they have also been trained to use a litter box, which can make the first few days at home a little easier. Adoption Requirements: A fencedin backyard suitable for a small dog (no invisible fences). If your condo or HOA does not allow fencing, we may consider your application on a casebycase basis. An adult who is home during the day and able to provide the time, supervision, and companionship a puppy needs.” No crating for puppies. Adopters must use a puppy playpen, which provides a safe, contained space with room to move and reduces stress. We will share recommended options once your application is approved. Children in the home must be 7 years or older. Younger children may be considered if they have grown up with a dog in the household. Homes with no dogs or a small dog will be considered (no multidog households). All puppies are vetchecked, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and have received heartworm and flea preventatives and are spayed/neutered. The adoption fee is $450. We require a $50 deposit to place a hold on a puppy once your application is approved. This helps prevent noshows and lastminute cancellations, since preparing a puppy for an adoption appointment requires coordination with our foster homes. Your deposit is fully refundable if you attend your scheduled appointment, meet the puppy, and decide not to adopt. This policy ensures fairness to all approved adopters and helps us manage our time and foster resources responsibly. To adopt, please complete an online application on our website by clicking the "Adopt" button under the puppy's photo. .indianasaveadog.

More About Jack Chi BreedOverview:
The Jack Chi is a delightful designer breed, a cross between the spirited Chihuahua and the energetic Jack Russell Terrier. Originating from the desire to combine the best traits of both parents, this hybrid typically inherits a compact size, weighing between 8-18 pounds and standing 10-15 inches tall. Their physical appearance varies, often featuring a short, smooth coat in colors like black, white, tan, or a combination, with alert, intelligent eyes. Temperamentally, Jack Chis are known for being playful, intelligent, and loyal companions. They possess the Chihuahua's affectionate nature and the Jack Russell's zest for life, making them engaging pets. While adaptable to apartment living due to their smaller stature, they require regular exercise and mental stimulation to prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. They can be good with families who understand their need for consistent training and socialization, especially with younger children. Notable health considerations for the Jack Chi include potential predispositions to conditions seen in their parent breeds, such as patellar luxation, dental issues, and heart problems, highlighting the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
