Audrey, female, 22 weeks Shepherd mix, weighs 28lbs Audrey isn't going to be a big girl but she does have a big heart. She is an owner surrender when her family realized they were not ready for a puppy. We brought her up here from Texas knowing we could help her find her forever family. She is a gentle girl that loves hanging out with other dogs and based on her personality, she would adjust well to a cat in the house. She enjoys playing with her toys or chewing on a puppy bone on her dog bed. She is doing great with her house training and is fine in her crate overnight. She is starting to learn her leash manners and seems to respond best to positive reinforcement and treats. She is smart, so any additional training will be a breeze. Audrey is wonderful with gentle and kind children. She would love a calmer household and maybe a doggy friend to play with. We are located at S47 W30760 State Road 59, North Prairie, WI As always, we never guarantee the breed OR the size they'll be as an adult. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
