Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Meet Oreo! Oreo is a 7-8 yr old female pit bull terrier mix with a heart as big as her smile and energy for days. Indoors, she is mellow, affectionate, silly and very human-oriented. She is a total daddy's girl! She is happiest when she can be the star of the show and soak up all the love. Oreo is not a fan of small dogs (she's had a couple of "not-so-friendly" run-ins) and would do best in a home without other animals. Older kids and no cats! House-trained and crate-trained. Her dream home? A secure, fenced yard where she can do zoomies, sniff the breeze, and take quick potty breaks. Once she's had her playtime, she's a champion napper, especially in a sunny, couch-shaped spot.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
