Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (medium coat). Hi, Iâm Jaxson. Iâm an energetic dog who is always ready for an adventure! I love being around people and am eager to make new friends. I went on a Daycation recently, and did really well. I'm also a really good boy hanging out in an office at the shelter. I am still learning dog-to-dog social skills and can get a bit overexcited at times. I would be a great companion for someone looking for a structured training buddy, as I need a little help channeling my energy. I would do best in an experienced home with everyone over the age of 16, where my enthusiasm for life can be guided into love and loyalty for my family. I'm quite the star - I have so many videos and photos! Scroll down to the end to check them all out! I went on a Daycation recently and I got all A's in the car, in the house, and on walks. I also hang out in the office at the shelter because sometimes I find the kennels a little stressful and my friends say that I'm perfect in the office too. Here's a video of how well I walk on my gentle leader (the thing on my head-it's kind of like a halter for a horse): Bein' a goob in the office: Waiting for a snack in my Daycation house like the good boy I am:

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
