Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Meet Rudy! Rudy is a 1-year-old terrier mix who checks all the cuteness boxes and then some. This happy, high-energy boy is a total lover who adores people and gets along great with other dogs. He thrives on companionship and must be adopted with another playful dog in the home to keep him entertained. Rudy is smart and eager to please—he listens well to commands, has excellent recall, and does great off-leash. He’s still working on perfecting his leash manners, but with consistency he’ll get there in no time. Because of his energy level, Rudy would do best with children over the age of 12. He is not cat-friendly; while he doesn’t show aggression, he loves to chase them. He has not been exposed to livestock. Rudy is 43 lbs and potty trained. If you’re looking for a devoted “shadow dog” who will follow you everywhere, shower you with affection, and bring nonstop joy into your life, Rudy is your guy. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
