Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (medium coat). Iâm Jules. The world feels a little big and loud to me most of the time. I get nervous easily and I donât always know what to do with new people, new places, or sudden noises. I like to hang back and watch first. I need time. If you rush me, Iâll probably shrink into myself or stick close to someone I trust. Itâs not that I donât want to be brave... Iâm just scared of getting it wrong. But if youâre patient with me, I start to warm up. Once I feel safe, my whole body changes. My tail loosens, my eyes soften, and Iâll come closer on my own. When I trust you, I really trust you. Iâm pretty proud of what I know. I can sit, shake, and down, and I try my best to show off when Iâm asked; especially if thereâs food involved. Honestly, food is my favorite thing in the world. Treats help me feel confident, help me focus, and help me understand that good things are happening. If youâve got snacks, you already have my attention. I might be scared of the world, but Iâm learning. With time, kindness, and a few treats in your pocket, Iâll show you the gentle, loyal dog I really am.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
