Description
Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. Meet #MADloveCota, a loving mama and truly special girl. Cota is the sweet mother of 13 rambunctious puppies and has handled the job with incredible patience and grace. She's done a great job raising her puppies and now she's looking for her furever home. She does great in a busy home full of activity and people. She loves being near her humans and will happily hang out in the same room, soaking it all in. Cota is unbelievably gentle with young children and small dogs. We haven’t introduced her to large dogs yet while she’s been nursing, but as she weans from her puppies, her affectionate and calm personality continues to shine. Cota is not territorial and shows no food aggression. She’s learned that her meals are reliable now and no longer feels the need to scrounge. She’s a quick learner, confident, and not easily startled. Airplanes overhead don’t bother her, and even thunderstorms don’t faze her. We believe Cota is around 4 years old and more than ready to be loved on. With her sweet nature, gentle soul, and steady temperament, she has all the makings of an amazing family dog — and she’ll absolutely steal your heart. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
