Tyson Needs a Hospice Foster Home — RDU Area Tyson is a 17-year-old, 9-lb Yorkie mix who has come to Rainbow Bridge Hospice Rescue at a time when he needs comfort, stability, and love more than anything else. He is now seeking a hospice foster home in the RDU area—a quiet, compassionate place where he can spend his time surrounded by kindness and care. A hospice foster home is not about saying goodbye—it’s about giving a dog dignity, peace, and love for however much time they have. Tyson doesn’t need perfection; he needs someone willing to open their heart and home, provide a soft place to rest, and let him know he is not alone. Rainbow Bridge Hospice Rescue covers medical care and provides ongoing support. All we ask is that a foster offers patience, comfort, and love. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds.
