Description
Dog Breed: Bulldog (short coat). Bonnie has been enjoying her time in foster, cuddling up during the snow storm. Here is what her foster has to say about their time with Bonnie! Bonnie is doing great in a home environment - she adapted to our home almost instantly. She is house trained and learned to use the doggy door quickly. She knows the tricks âsitâ and âlay downâ although we have rarely had to use them. She behaves well at home and in public (she spent several hours at a coffee shop on Saturday), being so calm mild mannered that most folks donât even notice her there. She has been great with our older dog and both our cats. She mostly has wanted to cuddle with our dog and sometimes wants to play with him. She has ignored the cats entirely. She rides great in the car and has great house manners as well - she does not jump up on furniture or venture into rooms or areas where the humans of the house are not. It is clear Bonnie is well trained and was well loved by her past owners. We have not had to leave her home alone due to all of us being closed in due to the snow storm, but I wouldnât have any hesitations or concerns about separation anxiety or bad behavior. Overview:
The Bulldog, often recognized by its distinctive pushed-in face and sturdy build, is a beloved breed with a rich history rooted in England. Originally bred for bull-baiting, their temperament has evolved significantly, making them gentle, affectionate companions today. Physically, Bulldogs are medium-sized, characterized by their broad shoulders, short legs, and loose, wrinkled skin. Their short coat typically comes in various colors and patterns. Despite their somewhat imposing appearance, Bulldogs possess a surprisingly sweet and docile nature, making them excellent family pets and remarkably well-suited for apartment living due to their lower energy levels. However, prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns, including brachycephalic airway syndrome, hip and elbow dysplasia, and skin fold dermatitis, which necessitate regular veterinary care and attention to their unique needs. Their calm disposition and moderate exercise requirements make them a wonderful choice for those seeking a loving and loyal companion.
