I weigh about 30 pounds, and my favorite thing in the world is being close to my person. I’m basically your little shadow—following you from room to room, and the second you sit down, I’m right there in your lap. All I want is love. I’m crate trained (though I might whine a little sometimes), and I’m almost fully potty trained. I haven’t had any accidents—I just haven’t quite learned how to tell you when I need to go outside yet. With a little consistency, I’ll have it down in no time! I’m a couch potato at heart, but I do enjoy short walks and going for car rides. Honestly, I’m just happiest wherever you are! I get along great with other dogs, especially those who are more laid-back like me. I’m easygoing, affectionate, and ready to be someone’s loyal best friend. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
