Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Confetti is an 11-week-old mixed breed sweetheart weighing in at about 20 pounds—and she’s just as delightful as her name suggests. This playful, happy girl has a gentle, loving personality and a zest for life that makes her a joy to be around. Confetti gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has done well with cats too, making her a great fit for a multi-pet household. She loves to play, explore, and then settle in for some well-earned cuddle time. Although Confetti had a rough start to life—she was rescued from an outdoor kennel where she lived with 15 other puppies from mixed litters—she hasn’t let that dim her bright spirit. She’s proven to be incredibly resilient and eager to learn. She’s still working on her potty training, but she’s already doing great with crate training. In fact, if you set her in front of her crate, she’ll walk right in on her own and relax quietly until she needs to go outside. She’s smart, adaptable, and clearly wants to please. Confetti is looking for a loving home where she can continue to grow, learn, and be cherished like she deserves. If you’re searching for a playful, sweet companion with a heart full of love, Confetti might be your perfect match. Available for adoption 1/18. Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale, PA 15144 KL# 16182

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
