Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Fizz is a 10-week-old mixed breed puppy weighing about 10 pounds, and he’s a gentle soul who just needs a little time to let his bubbly personality shine. He may be a bit nervous at first, but once he gets to know you, he’s all about snuggling up close and soaking in the love. Fizz had a challenging start to life and came from an outdoor kennel where he lived among many other puppies from mixed litters. Despite this, he’s making wonderful progress and is learning that the world can be a safe and happy place. Fizz is doing well with both house training and crate training. When placed in front of his crate, he’ll go right in and settle quietly until it’s time to go outside. He thrives on routine, patience, and gentle encouragement, and he’s already showing how much he wants to do well. With other pets, Fizz does well, especially when given time to feel comfortable. He would do best in a calm, loving home that understands shy puppies and is willing to help him build confidence at his own pace. If you’re looking for a loyal little companion who will reward your patience with the sweetest cuddles, Fizz could be the perfect addition to your family. Available for adoption 1/18. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
