She weighs about 20 lbs. and we think she will be a medium to large sized dog. We believe she has some shepherd and cattle dog in her. She is adventurous, energetic, endlessly curious, and always eager to explore everything around her. Eden has a wonderfully independent streak and can happily entertain herself, especially in a backyard where she’ll play for hours and have the absolute time of her life. She’s incredibly friendly and playful, does great with other dogs, and loves humans. Eden has recently found her bark and uses it in the cutest way to play and communicate with her canine friends. While she prefers playtime over constant cuddles, she still enjoys a cozy cuddle nap now and then when she’s ready to wind down. Eden is crate trained and potty trained with pee pads, and is currently working on leash training—she’s getting the hang of it more every day! She responds well to correctional commands and discipline and is a smart, eager-to-learn puppy. Because of her energy and love for movement, Eden would thrive in an active home, ideally with a backyard or a family that enjoys frequent walks and outdoor adventures. This puppy is full of light, love, and personality, and she’s just looking for someone to enjoy life with her! Her adoption fee is $350. A refundable training deposit of $100 will be also due upon adoption. Training must be provided in a timely fashion to ensure our pups become the best canine citizens. The training deposit will be refundable within 3 months of the adoption date. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to .secondchancedogrescue and complete an application today! All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
