Description
Dog Breed: Husky / Great Pyrenees / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Butter! Butter and his siblings were born to mama Sugar. Sugar is a wonderful and friendly Retriever mix who has done a great job raising her babies. The pups will be ready to leave their mom around 8 weeks of age so we are getting a head start on finding them great families. Sugar's pups are large breed puppies. We are awaiting the results of a DNA test but based on looks alone they appear to have Husky, Retriever and possibly Great Pyrenees in their genes. We will update the results of the test as soon as we can. We expect the pups to grow to around 80 lbs. Dogs with this breed mix are not suitable for apartments and are not suitable for families with very young children or families who are not active. A home with a yard is a must. The pups will need thorough training and socialization in order to grow up to be good canine citizens. They are being well prepared in their foster home and are handled and socialized daily. Many behavior challenges in adult dogs can be prevented by proper training, handling and socialization as puppies and we are committed to helping these pups find forever families dedicated to helping them grow up well. You can submit an application for the pups via our website savinggreatanimals. For larger litters (there are 7 pups available) we set up meet and greets in the order that applications are received. For example, the first applicant has first pick of the litter, second applicant has second pick of the litter etc. The pups are on a vaccination schedule and will be microchipped and dewormed. They will be spayed/neutered at our cost between 8-12 months of age. This is not negotiable and built into our adoption contract. Their adoption fee is $595 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at .savinggreatanimals and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!

Breed overview
Overview:
The Pyrenees Husky, a captivating crossbreed of the Great Pyrenees and Siberian Husky, originated from a desire to blend the best traits of both parent breeds. These striking dogs typically boast a medium to large build, featuring a dense, often bi-colored coat that can range from a fluffy double coat to a more medium-length texture, with striking blue or multi-colored eyes being common. Temperamentally, they are known for being intelligent, affectionate, and generally good-natured, often exhibiting the Great Pyrenees' calm loyalty combined with the Husky's playful energy. While they can be wonderful family companions due to their gentle disposition and patience with children, their size and exercise requirements make them less suitable for cramped apartment living. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health considerations common to the parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia and certain eye conditions, emphasizing the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups for these magnificent dogs.
