Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 550. Muffin's estimated birth date is 11/22/2025. She's the smallest of the litter being 2.38 lbs. at 7 weeks of age. (Mom, Starr is a sweet and friendly medium-size pup.) Muffin may be a small puppy in stature but can hold her own with her littermates. Muffin enjoys exploring, napping in a human's lap and playing with toys. She sleeps through the night and is working on potting training on pads until she has enough vaccines to go outside. Muffin's fur is black, white and brindle. Muffin would do best with a patient adopter willing to spend the time training her so she can be the best pup! Muffin would love a fenced-in backyard for doing zoomies (running) and a household with older 8+, respectful children. Most likely she will be a medium-sized adult pup. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
