Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 550. Small but mighty. My name is Muffin. I’m the smallest of the “M” litter, but I won’t be pushed around by my brothers. I have beautiful brindle markings and gorgeous brown eyes. I’m used to getting my own way because I’m so adorable. I enjoy the finer things in life- cushy bed, pup cup, and cute coats to wear outside! I enjoy gazing out the window and taking in the sights and sunshine. I sleep well during the night in my crate. I’m patient with my foster in the morning, even if she’s a little slow getting breakfast ready. I’m working on my puppy skills and need a patient adopter who will have time to train me. I’ll most likely be about 35 lbs. when full-grown. I’m possibly a Terrier/Dalmatian/Hound mix. I have a dainty bark, so I’m not sure why they think I’m part Hound? I do know I’m 100% adorable! My Mom, Star, also in rescue, is 35 lbs. and appears to be a combination of Dalmatian/Terrier/Hound. Muffin’s estimated birthdate is 11/22/2025. Muffin would love a fenced-in backyard for doing zoomies (running) and a household with older 8+, respectful children, if any. The adoption fee of $500 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
