Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 300. Muffin has beautiful brindle coloring with gorgeous brown eyes. She’s a petite puppy with small paws. Muffin is crate trained, potty trained (80%) and knows the sit command. She’s doing great walking on a leash. Muffin is a quiet observer in her foster’s backyard. She takes in all the bird noises and squirrels running along the top of the fence. She also enjoys gazing out the window and taking in the sights and sunshine. Muffin is a great combination of laid back and medium energy puppy. She loves other dogs and people. Resting on the couch next to someone is becoming one of her favorite things to do. Muffin enjoys grabbing a dog toy and being chased by her littermate in her foster’s fenced-in yard. She will most likely be about 35-30 lbs. when full grown. Muffin is a possible Hound/Terrier mix. Estimated birthdate is 11/22/2025. Muffin would love a fenced-in backyard for doing zoomies (running) and a household with older 5+, respectful children, if any. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
