Description

Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever (short coat). The application is the first step in the adoption process, so if you are interested in adopting please fill out the online adoption application first by visiting our website at .dachshundpaws Molly is a beautiful 2-year-old chocolate Labrador with a heart as big as her smile. She’s incredibly friendly and has a gentle, happy nature that makes her a joy to be around. Molly is a petite lab. Molly absolutely loves kids and does wonderfully with other dogs—she would be thrilled to have a playful canine sibling to romp around with, but not required. She’s both crate trained and dog-door trained, knows basic obedience, making her an easy addition to a home that values good manners and structure. Molly is looking for a family who will truly include her in daily life—whether that’s neighborhood walks, outdoor adventures, or simply being part of everyday activities. If you’re searching for a loving, social, and energetic companion who’s ready to be your best friend, Molly may be the perfect match. Molly‘s adoption fee: $400 We do not have a kennel or facility to visit, all dogs are kept in foster homes until their forever homes are found. Adoption Process: Once an approved application is on file, we will then set up a home visit. At that time we will bring the dog to the home in which you will all be sharing. We ask the entire family to be there that day. If we all agree on the placement, then the dog will stay with you that day. Please visit our website at .dachshundpaws

Overview:

The Labrador Retriever, a beloved and highly popular breed, originated in Newfoundland, Canada, where they were initially bred to assist fishermen by retrieving nets and stray fish. Physically, they are medium-to-large dogs, known for their strong, athletic build, short, dense, weather-resistant double coat (commonly seen in black, yellow, or chocolate), and their distinctive "otter" tail. Temperamentally, Labs are celebrated for their friendly, outgoing, and good-natured disposition, making them exceptional family companions. Their intelligence and eagerness to please contribute to their trainability, though they do require consistent exercise to prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. While adaptable, their energy levels make them more suited to homes with yards, or highly active families, rather than apartment living, unless daily extensive exercise is guaranteed. Regarding health, Labs can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia, and some eye conditions, so responsible breeding practices are crucial. Overall, their loyalty, versatility, and affectionate nature firmly establish the Labrador Retriever as a wonderful addition to many households.
