Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog (short coat). Adoption Fee: $40. Hello, my name is Prima Yes, like “prima donna,” but don’t worry—I’m all sweetness and zero attitude. I’m a one-year-old, 45-lb Shepherd girl who loves people and gets along great with other dogs. I’m gentle, affectionate, and always happy to be near my humans. I’m still working on putting a little more meat on these bones, but don’t worry—the shelter has me on a glow-up plan and I’m taking it very seriously (especially snack time). I’d love a home where I can keep gaining confidence, a few pounds, and lots of love. I promise to repay you with loyalty, soft eyes, and classic shepherd devotion. ✨ Best part? My adoption fee is SPONSORED and reduced to just $40. That fee covers: ✔️ Spay ✔️ Distemper/Parvo vaccine ✔️ Rabies vaccine ✔️ Fecal test for parasites ✔️ General dewormer All of this will be done before I go home with you—I come fully vetted and ready to start my next chapter. If you’d like to meet me, please call 256-362-5856 to schedule an appointment. Love, Prima ‍ (Sweet, gentle, and ready to be your loyal sidekick)

Overview:
The German Shepherd Dog, a truly iconic breed, originated in Germany in the late 19th century, primarily for herding sheep. They are easily recognizable by their athletic, medium-to-large build, typically weighing between 50-90 pounds, with a distinct double coat that can be black and tan, sable, or solid black. Known for their intelligence and loyalty, German Shepherds possess a remarkably trainable and courageous temperament, making them exceptional working dogs in fields like police and service work. While generally good with families when properly socialized, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them unsuitable for apartment living without significant daily exercise. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as degenerative myelopathy, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
