Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Nala! She is a petite little love bug looking for her forever home. A 1-year-old Terrier/Chihuahua mix weighing just 9 lbs, Nala is the perfect mix of playful, sweet, and snuggly. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and ready to move right in and steal your heart. Nala is truly something special. She adores kids and is unbelievably gentle and patient, happily soaking up affection. She does great with other dogs and loves to play. She can be a little verbal during doggy romps, but it is all fun and friendly. When playtime is done, Nala’s favorite place is curled up on cozy blankets or cuddled right next to her people. She also loves stuffed toys and will happily entertain herself with them. Home Life Housebroken Crate trained (she LOVES her crate — it’s her safe space!) Great for apartments/shared walls (not a barker) Walks well and enjoys them Car Rides Not her favorite and she may get a little carsick Good With Dogs Kids (seriously amazing!) Cats (not aggressive, but she will chase) Nala has no medical issues and no behavioral concerns. She is an easy, loving little companion who will thrive in just about any home. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
