Description

Dog Breed: Dalmatian (medium coat). Hi, I’m Oreo! I’m a stunning 5-year-old Dalmatian who’s ready to find my forever family. With my beautiful spotted coat and bright personality, I turn heads everywhere I go. I’m at the perfect age where I’ve outgrown the puppy chaos but still have so much life, love, and adventure ahead of me. I’m looking for someone who wants a loyal companion to share their days with, whether that means going for walks, spending quality time together, or just enjoying each other’s company. I have so much love to give and I can’t wait to show someone just how special I am. If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind dog to make your life a little brighter, I might just be the girl you’ve been waiting for. If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog's better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict. The Adoption Fee Includes: - initial canine distemper combination vaccination - first worming or stool check - rabies vaccination (for animals over 3 months of age) - 24 Petwatch microchipping - flea treatment/preventative - spaying or neutering -heartworm testing Adoption fee: $135.00 Per state law, ALL ADOPTERS must purchase a non-refundable 2025 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and older. The cost of the license is $9.20. (Senior Citizen or Person with Disability-$7.20) Leash and collar included

Overview:

The Dalmatian is an iconic medium-sized breed, instantly recognizable by its striking white coat adorned with distinctive black or liver spots. Originating in the historical region of Dalmatia (modern-day Croatia), these dogs were initially bred as coaching dogs, running alongside carriages to protect passengers and deter road agents. Physically, they are well-muscled and athletic, with a graceful, symmetrical build and an alert expression. Temperamentally, Dalmatians are known for being outgoing, intelligent, and highly energetic, requiring significant daily exercise and mental stimulation to prevent boredom. While generally good with children and suitable for active families, their playful exuberance might be overwhelming for very young kids, and their exercise needs make them less ideal for small apartment living unless exceptionally well-exercised. Health-wise, the breed is notably predisposed to deafness (affecting a significant percentage) and urinary stone formation, necessitating careful breeding and veterinary monitoring. Early socialization and consistent training are crucial for developing a well-adjusted and beloved family member.
