Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. ADOPT STORMY Stormy Trooper is ready for her forever home! This precious little petite girl was found wandering all by herself with her collar and leash still attached. Nobody came looking for her, which truly breaks our hearts. Stormy is the perfect package: dog friendly kid friendly, and people friendly. She is a nice petite size and just too cute for words. She has been spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, has her microchip and is ready to move in. Please read what her foster mama has to say about this most precious baby: My foster dog Stormy is now officially available for adoption . She is between 6months and a year (she has all her adult teeth which are still sharp…lol), weighs 26# and is a tiny petite girl. Stormy is also already spayed. Her breed is anyone’s guess. She’d be a great candidate for one of those doggy DNA tests. Stormy has been using the doggy door to go outside and pee pads, but is also starting to let you know when she has to go. She loves her foster doggo siblings and new human friends she meets. When she meets new doggo and human friends, she likes to bark at them and try to play (wrestling and puppy biting), so we are working on that as well. At home she is pretty chill. Every day we are learning new and exciting things and still working on some puppy manners. She does great in her crate while I am at work or running errands. When I’m home, she is out of her crate and does great, even overnight. Stormy has not destroyed anything other than some dog toys. Sometimes she will test you and grab something and run, but usually will drop it. Outside is a different story. Stormy likes to try and get anything in her mouth from leaves, to branches to rabbit poop. Cuddling and snuggling and toys are just a few of her favorite things. Stormy also knows sit, lay down and wait for her food. She isn’t too bad at playing a game of fetch, but her favorite game is tug of war with her big foster doggo Ruger (he is three times her size and weight). Stormy does well for car rides, but sometimes gets scared to get inside the vehicle. Once she is inside and gets some comforting snuggles and words of encouragement, she settles and is fine. She usually will explore for a little and then curls up and falls asleep. This little girl has come a long way in such a short time and will do great things. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
